doctor stuff

Well, Ethan got really sick AGAIN a couple of weeks ago so he missed 2 days of school (right before the snow/ice caused the school to close. He got good enough grades last term that he got to go on a special field trip to Chuck E Cheese, but he was so sick he couldn't go :( I felt awful for him! He did go to school on Monday (against my wishes but I think he had cabin fever) and by noon the nurse was calling me because he had thrown up 4 times- poor baby boy! And poor custodian! So, I came and got him- apparently there were LOTS of puking incidents at school that day! Then the next day/week school got cancelled. Finally he is well again though!
I am going to the thyroid dr soon to have my cysts drained again, and this time they will be using alcohol to inject the cysts and destroy them since they keep growing back and I have one that is so big and looks like an Adams apple- I might need to wear a turtleneck soon so people don't mistake me for a man :-/ The alcohol ablation is tricky though- if he accidentally nicks the other side of the cyst alcohol will pour out into my throat and do major damage to my vocal cords. Or the surgical option could make me have thyroid problems my whole life....My dr wants to do the alcohol so hopefully he doesn't mess up. I am waiting for that appointment because his wife is having a baby any day now AND the practice is moving to a new office. I hope they hurry and get me in though because I am starting to look hidious!
But dont think that is the end of the fun! I went to a gynocology specialist because of some issues I have been having and it recently has become something I can't live with anymore. He is pretty sure I have Adenomyosis. I had never heard of it before but after doing some research I am positive that this is what is wrong with me (well, one of the many anyhow) It is much like endometriosis but it cant be seen as easily because the tumors grow inside the muscle of the the uterus. Nice huh? Basically I have the equivilent of back labor for 3 days every month- Well that isn't so horrible when you have 'real' labor- once in 9 months and get a baby to show for it. I get it every month and only a period to show for it. ugh. The only way to get rid of the problem is a hysterectomy. Soooo That is what I will be doing. Hopefully at the end of March. I have some other problems too so I have to get some tests done the beginning of march to see just what is wrong so he knows how to fix it, but since it is so much that needs to be done, he can't do it laproscopically- it has to be a big ol cut in my abdomen :( At this point- I don't care- get the damn thing out of me!!! We are busy trying to plan all the details out though- Jim can't take off work and I won't be able to do ANYTHING at all for at least a week, and no lifting for 6 weeks. It will be interesting!
