Other new and exciting news!

Well- this has nothing to do directly with our family BUT our neighbor Leah (Caden and Mackenzie's mom) is pregnant! Yeah!!! She did ivf and they put 3 (!!!!) in there, so the whole neighborhood is on pins and needles waiting a few more weeks for the ultrasound to see just how many babies she has in there! It's very exciting!

surgery is scheduled!

I am having my hysterectomy on March 29th! YEAH!!! I am looking forward to this day- though yesterday when they called and scheduled it I really freaked out. I guess scheduling it made it REAL, and I have never had a major surgery like that before- and never anything besides laproscopic cuts- even for my shoulder. It is very traumatizing to think of them cutting me open! Now I just have to figure out the recovery part and how to take care of the kids after Jim goes back to work. I have already informed my neighbors they will be on 'kid duty' especially keeping an eye on Sloane till Ethan and Cameron get home- now that is going to be longer because School hours have changed- it is 30 minutes longer now to make up for all the lost days from bad weather. Then there is picking Ethan up even later than that from Choir, taking him to Kyuki-do, and Cameron to soccer practice....LOTS to figure out! Then there is Finn- I am terrified she will jump on me. After they sceduled the surgery I also realized that is the day before Ethan's birthday :( I will be in the hospital for his birthday and that makes me so sad. I am sure he will be fine with it but I am not. Hopefully we can have his birthday party the weekend before- and I am hoping Jim will take Ethan to the AIDS walk the weekend after- I will just have to find someone to watch Sloane and Cameron while they are gone. I am disappointed I won't be doing that with him this year but I love that he still really wants to do it again!

Oh- and I am also getting my cyst ablation done next thursday- yeah!!! The cyst is so big now that it is pushing on my trachea making it difficult to take deep breaths and to swallow. I think it has actually bruised my trachea because it HURTS a bit. I really should be having the procedure done sooner than next thurs BUT the dr's wife just had a baby this week soooo I will let his wife have him this week. I am gonna give him a hard time about it when I see him though! LOL!

doctor stuff

Well, Ethan got really sick AGAIN a couple of weeks ago so he missed 2 days of school (right before the snow/ice caused the school to close. He got good enough grades last term that he got to go on a special field trip to Chuck E Cheese, but he was so sick he couldn't go :( I felt awful for him! He did go to school on Monday (against my wishes but I think he had cabin fever) and by noon the nurse was calling me because he had thrown up 4 times- poor baby boy! And poor custodian! So, I came and got him- apparently there were LOTS of puking incidents at school that day! Then the next day/week school got cancelled. Finally he is well again though!
I am going to the thyroid dr soon to have my cysts drained again, and this time they will be using alcohol to inject the cysts and destroy them since they keep growing back and I have one that is so big and looks like an Adams apple- I might need to wear a turtleneck soon so people don't mistake me for a man :-/ The alcohol ablation is tricky though- if he accidentally nicks the other side of the cyst alcohol will pour out into my throat and do major damage to my vocal cords. Or the surgical option could make me have thyroid problems my whole life....My dr wants to do the alcohol so hopefully he doesn't mess up. I am waiting for that appointment because his wife is having a baby any day now AND the practice is moving to a new office. I hope they hurry and get me in though because I am starting to look hidious!
But dont think that is the end of the fun! I went to a gynocology specialist because of some issues I have been having and it recently has become something I can't live with anymore. He is pretty sure I have Adenomyosis. I had never heard of it before but after doing some research I am positive that this is what is wrong with me (well, one of the many anyhow) It is much like endometriosis but it cant be seen as easily because the tumors grow inside the muscle of the the uterus. Nice huh? Basically I have the equivilent of back labor for 3 days every month- Well that isn't so horrible when you have 'real' labor- once in 9 months and get a baby to show for it. I get it every month and only a period to show for it. ugh. The only way to get rid of the problem is a hysterectomy. Soooo That is what I will be doing. Hopefully at the end of March. I have some other problems too so I have to get some tests done the beginning of march to see just what is wrong so he knows how to fix it, but since it is so much that needs to be done, he can't do it laproscopically- it has to be a big ol cut in my abdomen :( At this point- I don't care- get the damn thing out of me!!! We are busy trying to plan all the details out though- Jim can't take off work and I won't be able to do ANYTHING at all for at least a week, and no lifting for 6 weeks. It will be interesting!

fun times

We made a bunch of cookies on one of our 'snow' days. We were out of alot of food so we raided the pantry and used up a bunch of boxes of stuff we had in there for ages!
Here is Sloane being girly. Going through her box of clips trying to decide what to wear.Yep, STILL trying to decide....
This is pouty Sloane
The school has a special 100/101 day of school for Kindergarten. For the 100 day they are supposed to dress like a 100yr old person (we didn't have much for that!) and the 101 day is to dress up like the 101 dalmations! Due to school being out for so long, the 101 day ended up landing on Valentines day- so here is my cute valentine dalmation :)

Snow day!

We had an entire WEEK out of school due to ice and snow. There was only one day that there was any real snow though, so the neighborhood went to the elementary school to sled. There are some pretty steep hills at the school- so it's lots of fun. Maybe one day I will find some sleds to buy- this year we just used cardboard boxes. LOL! here is Ethan wearing a goofy hat and making snowballs
Cameron, Sloane, and Mackenzie having fun!

Gotta make a snow angel!

This is the first year that Sloane has actually enjoyed snow- and she had a blast!!

Yep, we brought Finn with us because she was having sooooo much fun in the snow. She had a great time and was busy keeping a watch on 'her' people. Makes sense since she is a herding dog- the kids are her herd :)

The big hill!

While we were at the school, there was also a firetruck and people sweeping water out the side doors of the school- Apparently all the cold weather broke some pipes. The sprinkler system went off in the library (no more books!) and flooded out the school. They ended up missing an extra day of school just to dry the place out. This happened 2 weeks ago and the classrooms are still missing the bottom half of the walls and the library is still closed :(
