Well, so far this has been a great school year. Ethan seems to have grown out of his 'akwardness' a bit and has some friends this year. He is also keeping his grades up too! He is reading a ton, and doing great in math. He is still involved in CEO and this year he auditioned for and made the school choir! He goes to choir twice a week after school, and he will get to have a few extra field trips during school when they go places to sing- he is pretty excited about it. So far though, he says they have been singing a-e-i-o-u the 'texas' way. Great- I send him somewhere to sing and they mess with his accent, not sure how I feel about that. I suppose as long as he doesn't come away saying 'fixing to' then I will be okay. Ethan has had one 'problem' this year- his hair. It got pretty long over the summer but we had to cut it for school. Our school district is snobby and boys have to have hair cut above the eyebrows and above the collar in the back. We decided to ignore the principals warnings but finally he came home with an official note that he would get in trouble if it wasn't cut. I think they send them to isolation or something really stupid like that. We might even let him change school districts for Middle school if he wants to grow his hair out- i just don't understand having such a strict sexually discriminating rule like that. We don't go to private school, they shouldn't be able to force that kind of crap on us!
Cameron had a really rough start, he loves school but it was really long days and he is totally not a morning person so waking up early every day made for a very grumpy Cam. He finally worked himself out of that though and enjoys it more- though he asks every day how many days till the weekend?
Sloane is really loving school! I mean LOVING it! She gets her kitty lunchbox in the mornings and starts packing it herself! Then she is ready to go- and doesn't want to have to wait until it is time to actually leave. When we get there she runs in, kisses us and says goodbye! If we don't leave quick enough she reminds us- GOODBYE!!! LOL! She has a great time playing there and coloring. I am so glad she enjoys it so much.

At the beginning of the school year, the school had an arial photographer come by- everyone in the school wore their school spirit shirts and got to be in the picture! They stood out in the front lawn and spelled out the school initials. Pretty cool!
Also- North Joshua was featured on the Today show!!! It was talking about the state standardized test and how well the 4th graders did last year (this was Ethan!) They did pretty good (as they ARE very good at shoving and shoving those tests down their throat) But it was kind of cool to have our school on national television
Sadly, because of these tests Ethan hates writing. He used to enjoy it to some extent but now he absolutely abhors it- thanks Texas! Thanks no child left behind!
