Fall fun!

Our church had a halloween party- the boys got to hit piniatas and there were all sorts of games and crafts to do- they all had a blast. Even better- it wore them out so much that they didn't want to go to the Fall Festival at the elementary school that night- Yeah for mommy, I got to relax!!!!Sloane's preschool had a pumpkin patch day- they got to hear stories, pick out pumpkins and decorate cookies. Lots of fun!

LVC fall camping trip

our neighborhood went camping again- this time to Cleburne state park- only about 40 minutes from home. we had a great time, but it was pretty cold at night which made some of the neighbors drop like flies. Next time we will have to go further from home so it is harder for people to leave once they come. hehehe! The kids and Finn in the tent.

Ethan found a snake skin!

time for SMORES!!!!

we had some visitors- 3 raccoons. The first night they opened one of the coolers, took out the box of waffles, then closed the cooler back up. They then went and sat next to one of our neighbors tents and ate all the food they found, Our neighbor could hear them eating all night. LOL!

the kids

Here is Ethan's CEO group after they did Trash Bash at a local park. Ethan is the hairy one in the back left ;)
I picked up this costume for Sloane and she wears it all the time.
Cameron is now taking medication for his bedwetting and yeah!!! it is working!!!! I took him in for a infection on his arm and leg (staph infection) which thankfully is mostly healed now. We talked about the bedwetting because it is really bothering Cam that he has to wear a pullup. Sloane has been completely potty trained for some time now and doesn't need a pullup at night anymore but we put them on her so that Cam doesn't know she doesnt need them- he would be really upset by that! So, we tried the meds- it is a pill and he has never taken pills before, but he was VERY motivated to not wet the bed anymore so he took it and did GREAT! And so far in over a week we have only had one wet night :) I told him he can wear underwear tonight if he wants to and he is SOOOOO excited!

Butterfly life cycle

This last spring, I planted a lovely Passion vine. I had great plans for this vine, and it started off great. Then it was overtaken by caterpillars! They completely destroyed the plant and ate every single leaf on it :( I tried spraying them, removing them, everything- but they always came back so finally I decided oh well- at least we will have butterflies!Sept 27- here, you can see some of the caterpillars and how they have eaten everything off my plant. This is the day I brought them in because I knew they were ready to form their crysalisSept 28- this one is making it's 'button' so that it will stick to the wall while it forms the crysalisOct 4 crysalis is fully formed- now we wait.Oct 4- one of them had started forming it's cyrsalis outside before I was able to get it in, and he finished in the butterfly cage, but did it on the ground. This is bad for butterflies as they need to be in the air when they emerge so their wings can dry correctly. I ended up gluing the tip to a qtip that was attached to the cage.Oct 10- we have butterflies! Amazingly they both emerged within probably minutes of each other because I had checked earlier and there was nothing new happening.Oct 11- freedom! I was taking pictures and this one escaped! He went into the family room where Caden found and caught him. They are so pretty! This type of butterfly is called a Gulf Fritallary- the only food source for the caterpillars is....yep, Passion vine. This is the butterfly that I glued. I think the glue had some effects on him because his wing never fully opened and one of his antannae fell off :( He could flutter around some but not really fly.
