Yellowstone National Park- part one

I took SOOOO many pictures here that I put it in sections that follow our day here. We had 3 cars full of people- I think there were 14 of us total! wow! This herd of buffalo was the welcoming committee...
and now might be a good time to note the pamphlet that we received upon entering the park...




This guy was standing off to the side of the road. Of course Rhett and I had to get out and take pictures of him. I am glad to know I am not the only one in the family with the overwhelming urge to do stupid things...But he starts moving toward Rhett so he gets up to move away...



then the buffalo crosses the road (should this be part of a joke?)Guess Rhett changed his mind about running away. Hey dummy did you read your pamphlet? Oh and when Rhett saw this picture he repetedley denied being this close to the buffalo....hmmmm, he looks pretty close to me!



But the fun wasn't over for him! We later saw another buffalo prancing around and he ran back behind us (that's where Rhett's car was- many cars back) and apparently that is where he decided to cross the street. He almost took off the mirror to his car! Yikes! Rhett tried to get a picture of it but they were SO close all you can see is some fur and a horn!!!!!! WOW!
