boring medical stuff

I finally went to the surgeon to see about the lump in my armpit- he is quite sure it is just a cyst and nothing to be worried about. He told me that if it got any bigger he would remove it though. That was a relief. Then 2 weeks ago, I woke up and found out that my had did not work (!) so I figured I had pinched a nerve and that the chiro could fix it. Well, he wasn't able to fix it but he did determine that I have radial nerve palsy. It is supposed to be a very temporary thing, and is caused by a compressed nerve. I just went to see him again today and the tests that he did on me had worse results this time than before and he could visibly see some muscle atrophy in my left hand. He is really worried about it now so he is sending me to someone to get some more tests done (why must these things happen when we have crappy insurance!?) So when I hear more about that I will update.

camping

Our neighborhood decided to go on a camping trip this weekend. I was pretty nervous about it because who in their right mind goes camping in Texas in the end of June in 100 degree weather with a 2mo. old baby?? Well, the campsite was only an hour away from home so we decided if it didn't work out we could always go back home. Well, it went fabulous! It was so much fun. We bought a big tent that we could all fit in and it was pretty comfortable. Ethan's friend Tristan slept in our tent because his parents got called out of town unexpectedly. Sloane even loved it- she loved the trees and the sounds. The hardest part for me though was that she got so dang dirty- babies aren't supposed to be dirty! We brought a fan and her swing with us (I know- not really roughing it!) but she sleeps beautifully in that swing and we figured why mess with a good thing? The kids got to play in the lake, we went on a few hikes, found a geocache, and had smores. A deer came into camp and also a few armadillos- I FINALLY got to see a live armadillo!!! We can't wait to go again!

The first morning- everyone still asleep!

He and his wife (and their two girls too) are the atheletes of the blockEthan and Tristan taking a break from making smoresone of the highlights- a friendly little armadillo decides to join in the fun!and he kept coming closer and closer to us- I was close enough to pet the little guy if I wanted to! (surprisingly I didn't though)

Soccer Camp

Ethan went to British Soccer Camp this week- he had a blast and his coaches were alot of fun. It was really hot all week and they played soccer for 3 hours each night but they made it through. The last day they had a game, got tshirts which the coaches autographed, and they got to pour water on one of the coaches- this of course was the highlight of the day for the kids!

2 Months Old!!

Sloane had her 2 month appt yesterday and she is huge!!! She was 11 lbs 9 oz and 24 1/2 inches tall! She has gained a whopping 4lb 3 oz and grew 4 1/2 inches since she was born! The dr said everything looked great but gave her some zantac for reflux- hopefully that will help. Poor girl had to get 5 shots and 1 oral vaccine today. She bled and bled and bled after the shots, then when she woke up from her nap she was a complete bear. Gosh, I have never heard her scream and cry like she did- it was awful. Next time I will remember to take tylenol with me so she can take that the same time as the shots. Poor girl was in so much pain she couldn't even eat- she just cried :( She woke up this morning all smiles so hopefully things will be good today.

She is getting to be alot more fun these days. She smiles and talks alot. She is also sleeping really well- she is out cold by about 9pm, then wakes up around 4am to eat, then sleeps till about 8am- I can't ask for anything better than that at this point!

summer fun

The kids have had a blast in the pool so far this summer. Too bad Sloane isn't ready for the pool- we just sit in the shade and watch the boys have fun for now.

Cameron is just making sure he has enough eye protection for that summer sun!

A visit from Grandma and Grandpa!

Mike and Shirley were finally able to come and visit- it was so nice to see them and the kids had a great time. It doesn't take Cameron quite as long to warm up to them as it used to which is nice.
