Cameron getting his game on

Strawberry Shortcake

Since January, Sloane has been talking about a strawberry shortcake party- so that is what we did. Boy was she excited too!

We had some very strange guests at the party...
And now, she officially owns all the stuff I didn't want her to want- but I guess that is a 3yr old girl for ya! She is very very happy with all her girlie stuff though- that's for sure!

Sloane is 3!

Sloane had a very good birthday! She went to school and they were all excited for her- but she gets very embarrassed when anyone (even just mom) sings her happy birthday! So she told me that she didn't like it when they did that at school. When I took the boys shopping for her birthday I was showing them some strawberry shortcake dolls- they both turned up their noses, and Ethan said- no, I don't want her to have so much girlie stuff. Wanna know what they bought her instead?? Ethan bought her a Tangled princess tower, and Cameron bought her Cinderella and horses and carriage. HELLO- you can not get more girlie than that!!! She really knew what she was doing this year- she is a pro at present opening now!

Sloane in Pink. catch it while you can!

No, these are not her clothes, but her preschool had a picture day and the photographers come with dress up clothes to make it fun. Of course she had to find the frilliest poofy dress and pink telephone :) You can tell she liked it! LOL!

Ethan is 11!!

Poor Ethan really got a bad deal this year- his birthday was on Wednesday- the day I came home from the hospital. No fun, I know! the Saturday before we took him and 2 of his friends to a Putt Putt golf place to play some games- that was fun. Then we came home for pizza and cake. He is getting hard to shop for now a days, so he got alot of gift cards, but he also got some speakers for his ipod, the entire Harry Potter series ( I think he is half through already!!) and a basketball hoop! He has decided he really enjoys basketball. He is thinking of trying out next winter, but he also tried out to be in 6th grade band next year too. We will see how full his plate is, but it's great that he found a new sport that he likes. Oh- he has his Kyuki-do belt test this saturday. Yeah!
The doofus insisted on blowing each and every candle out one at a time this year. He actually did it!

surgery is done!

Well, surgery was last monday- and I am happy to report that I am feeling better than I thought I would. I still have moments with some pretty bad pain but I am not as tired as I thought I would be. That's pretty good, considering that first evening after surgery I was thinking that I had made a huge huge mistake because I was in more pain than I had ever imagined anyone could even be in. Turns out they had me on morphine and it just wasn't doing anything for my pain. At the time I didn't know that it was abnormal- i figured I had just gotten myself into something I shouldn't have and was paying the price with pain. Nope- because as soon as they switched me to vicodin the next morning I felt almost great! Now looking back it makes me very angry that they let me be in so much pain- no sleep that first night because I constantly had to push a button that I had hoped so bad would provide pain relief that it never did, and why in the world are they going to ask you your pain level every hour, if they aren't going to do a damn thing about it??? There- that's my rant. Just glad I am feeling better. After 1 night in the hospital the dr came to check on me and said I was doing well enough to go home(!!) but I wasn't peeing well enough (you SO wanted to know this, right?) because after using the restroom, I still had alot of residual urine left in my bladder- so I had to have a cathetar again- yuck! The idea of going home with a cathetar wasn't really my thing so I decided to go ahead and stay in until the next morning. When he checked me the 2nd day, it was much better. Now there is only 5 more weeks till I can take a bath and pick up a gallon of milk. It's gonna be a loooong 5 weeks! Luckily I have the very BEST neighbors and friends in the whole world. They have taken care of me and the family since surgery. This week Jim is back at work and all my neighbors have stepped up to take Sloane to school, Ethan to Karate, and Cameron to soccer. Tomorrow Sara is coming over to dry my hair for me :)
