almost there

Thought we were finally almost done with all the sickness- then today Ethan had to stay home sick- I think it's only a cold thankfully. I got sick nearly 3 weeks ago and my ears are STILL clogged from it. Wild! I sometimes wonder if I will be this way forever.

Today I finally went and had my dental implant put in. It is more than 3 yrs overdue and since I took too long it has started messing up some other teeth so I couldn't put it off any longer. Insurance wasn't nice though- they won't pay anything on it because it is a preexisting condition. $3000 out of pocket. Yuck! And wow- I feel like a piece of furniture. Not only did they take a drill and put a hole in my jaw bone, He then hand twisted a screw into place, then used a RATCHET to tighten it. Wow- it was a weird experience to say the least.

One really funny thing about my appointment today is that his name is Dr. Britain. Next week I have an appt with Dr. England for some gyn issues. I told Dr. Britain that now I just need to find a Dr. Wales for something and I will have the whole UK area covered! Hahaha!

And now, for your viewing pleasure- I made him print out the xrays to take home. Hey, when you go through something traumatic like someone screwing a screw into your mouth- you should at least take away a freaky fun suvenire, right?

this is before:This is a dummy screw- they use it to measure how deep in they are. This is the real deal. You can see they took the original hole they drilled and made it even WIDER- like 4 different times! EEEEEEK! And yes, I feel some major pressure in my lower jaw!

The day after his birthday, Cameron got sick, and he apparently ended up with the flu :( He was on the mend though so the party for Sunday was still on- then I got sick- woke up sunday morning and went to the dr- I had the flu AND strep- boy I felt awful! So, party postponed. Finally we were able to have the party tuesday night. Sloane got in on the fun too- the same day I took Cameron to the dr for being sick, Sloane suddenly broke out in a red rash that quickly turned to hives covering her whole body. Oh, it was horrible! We still don't know what caused it but I took her in shortly after getting back from the dr with Cam. They gave her some steroids and thankfully it cleared it up after a few days.

Cameron is 6!!!

Happy Birthday Cameron!!!What a long drawn out birthday for Cam this year! His birthday was on Tuesday, but we decided to wait till Sunday for his party. On his actual birthday just the family had a celebration. He got to open presents, then we went to Peter Piper Pizza (like Chuck E Cheese but smaller and much closer!) and we pretty much had the whole place to ourselves! So we had pizza and played some games, then went to a frozen yogurt shop afterward- it was a pretty good night!
We had Cameron's birthday party a week later with his friends-
Cameron wanted a skeleton party of all things. At least he told me early so I was able to buy halloween clearance stuff.

The kids got to make their own skeletons- lots of fun!
