Sloane and Avery- BFFs

Avery came over the other day to play with Sloane and they were SO cute together! They both played with their babies and traded babies, they were both fine with it as long as they each had one. They also shared snacksThen I turned on the music and they danced and danced and danced. It was pretty funny to watch them!

February is almost here!

Well, Cameron and Sloane are obviously done with the getting along stuff- they really can get nasty with each other every now and then. And they weren't too happy with me taking pictures of their fight either!

We went to Tulsa a couple of weeks ago to visit Mike and Shirley. We had a great time as usual- but it was pretty cold and wet so the kids didn't get to run around outside like usual. We saw about 3 hot air balloons in Dallas on the way home from Oklahoma. They are so pretty!

Cameron's 5th birthday- party decorations

This cake is one I saw in a magazine in April- immediately I knew I had to do this party! The cake is silver but it is hard to see in the picture. The silver dust didn't go on like it was supposed to ( I am pretty sure it needed to be airbrushed on but I didn't have an airbrush machine laying around the house!) Robots need special food-I even made the Chex Mix from scratch because the kind that you buy in a bag comes with the wrong kind of pretzel- I had to have straight ones for the 'bolts'

And they need special beverages too!

These are scraps of paper and toilet paper rolls to decorate the costumes that I have been building all week long!
And in the robot bag is whistle straws to 'oil' the robots

Here are the costumes. I made 13 of these suckers- I won't be upset if I never see boxes, aluminum foil, or duct tape ever again!

Also, I made the banner with cardstock and some robot stickers that I found at the dollar store.

This robot is as big as Cameron. It is pieces of cardboard wrapped in foil and glued onto poster boardThis is for pin the batter on the robotParty favors- nuts and bolts, an straw, whistle, pixie sticks, and a glow necklace

Cameron's 5th birthday- the Robot Party

Cameron was really excited about his robot party!

First, all the kids decorated their costumes using the 'spare parts'

Then they played Pin the battery on the robot

And of course, there was a robot dance contest!I have to admit, Cameron is not usually much of a dancer, but he had some moves last night!Trinity was pretty good too-
And then the cake!

what was I thinking??

Well, Cameron's 5th birthday is tomorrow! I had a fabulous idea of throwing him a robot party- well robot party supplies are in short supply so I was on my own. There will be a total of 13 kids here tomorrow and I am planning on having enough robot costumes (made by me!!- hence the 'what was I thinking??) I have 4 more to go and I am so tired. Also the cake- yikes, the cake. Working on it now- I just hope it resembles the picture that I am using that made me want this dang party in the first place. And of course Jim is working nights so he is no help- I am on my own and drowning fast. If it goes the way I want for it to though, it will be the most FAB party ever! EVER!
