Ethan's party!

Everyone had a blast roller skating. It turned out better than we thought it would- all the kids did a great job skating, and so did all the grown ups!

Ethan's cake

Ethan's birthday party is today- it's at the roller skating rink. He is really into Bakugans lately, so we decided to make a Bakugan cake. For those that don't know- they are sort of like pokemon- you can trade them and they open up and have some sort of creature inside. Ethan and all his friends love these right now.

Let me just say that this cake was a pain in the butt to make! I am sick to think how much food coloring I put into the frosting to get the colors bright enough. I am pretty proud though- it turned out pretty good! Here is a picture of the cake next to the real one.

Sloane

Sloane loves to smack her lips right now. It's one of her favorite things to do.
And she LOVES the barstools- they are just the right height to stand under. She holds onto the legs and walks the chair all over the kitchen.

Sloane and her buddy Avery!

It doesn't take kids long to figure out the cabinets are the place to hang out!

zoo pictures

Well, we learned to NOT go to the zoo during Spring Break...half of Texas was there! It was fun anyway- just had to deal with some REALLY long lines! Cameron got to touch some sea creatures in the touch tank.

After dealing with the crowds at the zoo we decided NOT to go to the museum the next day. Instead we are going to pull Ethan out of school one day and take them- that way we don't have to deal with any crowds.

Spring Break!

This is spring break, so all the kids are home. We are really lucky because we are having some beautiful weather! Yesterday all the neighborhood kids were out playing so that's where we were. Sloane loves crawling all over the place- she isn't much of a fan of grass yet (probably because the grass is still brown crunchy dead stuff) so she sticks to the driveways. Jim is off work Thursday for the rest of the week so we are going to make the most of spring break. We had originally planned to go to Oklahoma but we didn't plan enough ahead of time with the kennel for Bagel, so onto plan 2- either Thurs or Fri we are going to take the kids all out for breakfast, then to the zoo. Then the other day we are driving to Dallas to see King Tut at the museum. I have been waiting to do this for awhile! I don't know if Cameron will get alot out of it, but Ethan will. I am just hoping it goes well- it seems like it might be mostly adult oriented, but it is a once in a lifetime thing so we are taking the kids. Luckily Jim's work gets a discount on tickets which is good because the tickets are pretty dang pricey! We have a full week ahead of us- hopefully it isn't too much for the kids to handle.
Then next weekend we will be having Ethan's Birthday party- it is at the roller skating rink this year, ought to be fun!

Oh, and this is definately worth noting- NOBODY is sick right now! WooooHoooo! hopefully it stays that way all week! We are currently at 5 days in a row with nobody throwing up!

Bye bye baby stuff!

It was finally time to get rid of a bunch of baby stuff that will never be used by us again- bouncy seat, doorway jumper, bottles, and the cradle, as well as massive amounts of clothes! I sold the cradle for $50 on craigslist- not bad considering we bought it for around $100 and that was 9 years ago!! Then the rest of the stuff I sold in a collective yard sale in Fort Worth that is held every 6 months- I made $270 on all the rest of the stuff! Not bad at all! Our house is a bit less cluttered now (at least the attic is!) The only thing that was hard to say goodbye to was the cradle- that and the crib are the only items that we have used for all 3 kids, but hopefully it will be well loved by someone else!
